Why we exist.

The U.S. brushless motor supply chain depends on a handful of overseas suppliers. We're building the domestic alternative.

The dependency

The dependency.

Every brushless motor — the kind inside every drone, robotic actuator, e-bike hub motor, and electric-vehicle auxiliary system — requires three things to manufacture: silicon-steel stator laminations, aluminum rotor shells, and the precision machinery that winds, glues, and assembles them.

In the United States today, almost none of these are made domestically. Vacuz dominates components and winding lines out of China; Marsilli, Bosch, and GROB-WERKE compete on automated winding and assembly out of Italy and Germany; European extruders supply the rotor stock. There is no domestic peer.

Why it matters

Why it matters.

Brushless motors are not optional components. They sit inside every drone on the DoD Blue UAS list, every humanoid robotics platform shipping in 2026, and every domestic defense actuator program facing Buy American pressure.

Tariff exposure, ITAR conflict potential, and the routine supply-chain disruptions of the last five years have made the dependency visible. None of them have made it smaller.

Brushless motors are not optional components. The dependency is, today, unavoidable. The dependency is, tomorrow, our product roadmap.

The gap

Two gaps, no domestic alternative today.

Stator lamination stacks.

Currently single-sourced from China through importers. Custom-die commissions take 20+ weeks and start at $100,000. There is no U.S.-domestic catalog supplier.

Manufacturing machinery.

Stator winding and epoxy coating machinery is dominated by Vacuz out of China, with Marsilli, Bosch, and GROB-WERKE contesting the automated-assembly tier from Europe. The U.S. has no equivalent domestic capacity.

Our thesis

Our thesis.

We are building one near-term catalog product — American Stator silicon-steel lamination stacks — sold as standard SKUs to U.S. motor builders. No custom-die commission, no 20-week wait.

In parallel we are building the machinery underneath — winding and coating lines. Together they make American Stator the domestic source for the highest-tooling-cost component in a brushless motor, plus the equipment that produces it.
